Tennessee WoodPile – Bio

Tennessee WoodPile is a bluegrass band from right outside of Nashville in Franklin, TN. They are rooted in tradition and driven by a love for great stories in song. Deeply inspired by the timeless sounds of The Stanley Brothers, Flatt and Scruggs, Del McCoury, and Larry Sparks, the band honors classic bluegrass while keeping the music vibrant and alive for today’s audiences.

Alongside those roots, Tennessee WoodPile embraces the modern edge of bluegrass, drawing influence from artists like Billy Strings, Missy Raines, Appalachian Road Show, and Po’ Ramblin’ Boys. Curating songs from this new era that have a sound that feels both timeless and current—traditional bluegrass songs with modern flare.

A hallmark of the WoodPile show is their creative bluegrass re-imagining of Americana and country songwriting, including the music of Merle Haggard, Steve Earle, and Townes Van Zandt, delivered with driving rhythms, tight harmonies, and timely pickin.

Tennessee WoodPile brings a show that satisfies die-hard bluegrass fans while welcoming newcomers. Whether on a theater stage, a historic bar, or just playing an outside show for friends of bluegrass, the band delivers authentic bluegrass with heart, soul, and plenty of respect for the music they so dearly love.
